Over the next few weeks we will be cooking some delicious recipes. So that you can take them home, you will need to bring certain items with you. Listed below is a week by week list of what we will be cooking, and the items you will need. Remember always bring something to tie your hair back if you need to, and that you remove all jewellery such as watches. Please also make sure you haven’t got any nail varnish on. If you have an apron at home that you would like to bring along, that will be fine. Please inform Miss Docherty if you have any food allergies or foods you can’t eat.
Week One - Healthy Cakes and Biscuits - Tupperware container
Week Two - Smoothies - A bottle to hold liquid
Week Three -Soup and Soda Bread - A flask or something that is suitable for holding liquid, and a small pot for the Soda bread
Week Four - Pizza- Tupperware container
Week Five - Chicken Pitta Breads and Cheese Pin-Wheels - Tupperware container
Week Six - Party - Please bring (preferably plastic): Cup, Plate, Bowl, Spoon, Fork, Knife. We will be eating a range of healthy foods as part of a meal, so you may not want a large tea that evening
Look forward to seeing you, Miss Docherty and Mrs. Sturman
29th January 2009 Dear Parents, To supplement the work we do in school on healthy eating we are setting up an after school cookery club. The club will take place on Thursdays from 3.30pm to 5.00pm and will be for 5 weeks, commencing Thursday 26th February.
Children will learn about the importance of a healthy balanced diet and will have the opportunity to make some simple meals. The school will provide the ingredients for the dishes, but we ask for a contribution of £6.50 to cover the cost if your child wants to take the food home.
The club is open to all Year 4 pupils but only a limited number of spaces are available so please return the attached response form by Friday 6th February.
Yours sincerely,
Miss Docherty & Mrs Sturman
